Sir Richard Branson opens Virgin Active Alice Lane
Sir Richard Branson joined the 500 founder members of "the best health club in the world" for breakfast on his recent visit to SA - and even tried out the anti-gravity yoga!
Sir Richard Branson made a guest appearance at a breakfast for the founder members at the official launch of Virgin Active’s new Classic Club, Alice Lane Health Club in Sandton. It was also the first time Branson had seen what he has predicted to be the ‘best health club in the world.” He was not disappointed.
“I was here during the construction and from the plans knew that Alice Lane was going to be out of this world but today, having walked through and tried out some of the more unusual training equipment, I must say that it has exceeded all expectations. It has delivered on the promise of being the best health club in the world. I am so proud of the South African team for translating the vision into reality.
“Alice Lane is a total sensory experience. A wonderful balance between high energy and relaxation areas, magnificent views of the Sandton skyline from the roof top training site, state-of-the-art equipment, beautiful furnishings, a magnificent pool and all of this backed by exceptional service. I wish I were one of the lucky members who will be training here regularly.”
During his tour of Alice Lane, Branson ‘hung’ out with some members in an anti-gravity yoga class before taking in the Sandton skyline view from the roof top training area ahead of the breakfast.
